Jason Lucero was born in Lawton, Oklahoma and was raised in El Paso, TX. He began his culinary career in 2012, at Tabla, as a part-time dishwasher.

He quickly absorbed as much as he could under Norbert Portillo’s direction and became his Sous Chef at Ode Brewing in 2015. Lucero also received his BFA from the University of Texas at El Paso that same year.

He is passionate about his visual art, as much as culinary art, and shows his work around the region. He is currently Head Chef at Tabla and Ode Brewing.
